TrustedReviews recently got their hands on the Panasonic Viera TH-65PX600 plasma. This display boasts 1920 x 1080 full-HD native resolution, 5000:1 contrast ratio, three HDMI inputs, an SD card slot, and a built-in digital tuner. Here’s the bottom line:
Provided you do the sensible thing and feed the 65PX600 a diet of high definition as often as you can, it’s a simply imperious performer – without doubt the finest screen above 50in we’ve ever seen

With all those new HD consoles, HD teevee shows and HD video players vying for a shot at your HDMI cable, 2007 is looking to be quite the year for display manufacturers. BenQ is getting an early jump on the gamer-core market, showing off its new 2007 LCD lineup in December. Apparently BenQ is providing displays for the CPL 2006 Championship Finals in Dallas, where they’ll get to show off 2ms response times with the FP93GX, the 19-inch predecessor to this new gaming lineup. Sizes range from the 24-inch FP241WZ and FP241VW (shown above), which both sport 1920 x 1200 pixels, down to the 22-inch FP222WH, with 1680 x 1050 action, and the eensy FP94VW, with 19-inches of real estate and a 1440 x 900 resolution. The two 24-inchers sport 1000:1 contrast ratios and 500 nits of brightness, while the smaller displays slum it with 700:1 ratios and 300 nits. Price-wise, these things aren’t exactly steals: the FP241VW and FP241WZ hit $1499 and $1299 respectively, while the FP222WH will run you $549, followed by the FP94VW’s $299 tag. Some of the best news is connectivity options, since beyond that HDMI port with HDCP, all four displays feature VGA and DVI plugs, and the 24-inchers include S-video, composite and component inputs as well. No exact word on availability, but the CPL Finals run from December 16-20, so we expect the displays to drop sometime around then. More pics after the break.

While Evesham’s 47-inch LCD TV may have a long list of niceties that would surely bring a smile to any HD addict’s face, the rather hefty pricetag might just scare a few folks away. Apparently making sure that its got the low and mid-range customers covered as well, Evesham is busting out a bevy of new displays at much lower price points. The Alqemi lineups boasts 32-, 37-, and 42-inch panels, with all five sporting WXGA resolutions, 8-millisecond response time, 500 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio (save for the bottom-end’s curiously high 1200:1 spec), and integrated stereo speakers. Evesham further segregates the models by offering a low-end 32-inch version (peep a pic after the jump) with the bare necessities (HDMI, component / S-Video / composite, VGA, and an analog tuner) for £499 ($970), while offering mid-range units with DVB-T / analog hybrid tuners (with Digital Tick support), and a 42-inch flagship (Alqemi SX; pictured after the break) that boasts PIP and Virtual Dolby surround sound. Evesham’s budget lineup tops at £1,399 ($2,718), with the mid-range units ranging from £599 ($1,164) to £899 ($1,747), and can be picked up now on the other side of the pond.

In another foray into the never-ending LCD spec bump war, ViewSonic just threw down 3 new widescreens of the LCD variety for your desktop enjoyment. There’s plenty to love here, not least of which is price: the 19, 20 and 22-inchers go for $199, $349 and $399 respectively. The specs ain’t too shabby either, with 5ms response times all round, and 1680 x 1050 resolutions in the larger displays, with a 1440 x 900 19-incher holding up the low end. The 22 and 19-inch displays, VX2235wm and VX1935wm, have 700:1 contrast ratios, while the 20-inch VX2035wm hits 800:1. The two smaller displays sport 300 nits of brightness, while the larger one manages 280 nits, and all the displays are privy to stereo speakers, newly designed thin bezels, and integrated power supplies. Not bad at all for the price, and while we’re not exactly sure when these go on sale, we’re guessing you can nab one soon.
