We haven’t heard much from Yashica since it was snapped up by Kyocera way back when, but it looks like that’s about to change, as Crave recently spotted three new digital cameras sporting the familiar brand at the Imaging Expo in Singapore. Leading the pack is the 14-megapixel AV1400-HD model, although there doesn’t appear to be any more details on it than what you see on the face of the camera above (it will apparently be released by the end of the year though). Specs are a bit more plentiful for the now available EZ8032 and EZ7033 models, however, with the former boasting 8.2 megapixels, a 2.5-inch LCD, and thickness of 22 mm, and the latter packing a still decent 7.2 megapixels, along with a 3-inch screen, a 3x optical zoom, and an even slimmer thickness of just 18.5 mm. There’s still no word on a possible release ’round there parts though, so die-hard Yashica fans may have to find a way to get one from Singapore.

Dell’s latest 24-incher, the E248WFP, got a little overshadowed when it was released in Japan next to the webcam-sporting SP2208WFP, but now that it’s coming Stateside we’re ready to love it just as much. The lowest-priced Dell 24-inch display, the E248WFP features a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms refresh rate for just $469. You’re not getting a lot of frills for that number, of course, with inputs limited to just DVI-D with HDCP and VGA, no speakers, and and no USB ports, but as a pure screen it’s a pretty slammin’ deal.

We’ve got all ideas that folks fully expecting Samsung’s SyncMaster 245T to ship way back in March have moved on and purchased another monitor by now, but for the loyal few that are still clinging to a sliver of hope that this thing isn’t vaporware, we’ve got outstanding news. Some ten months (to the day, actually) after its unveiling, this 24-incher is finally ready to rock, and it’ll be coming to those still interested with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution PVA panel, 1,500:1 contrast ratio, six-millisecond response time, Motion Picture Acceleration (MPA) backlight scanning technology, 178-degree viewing angles and a four-port USB 2.0 hub for good measure. As for the port selection, you’ll find HDMI, S-Video, component, DVI and VGA connectors, and with any luck, you can score one now for $799.99.

Manufactum, the same company who apparently produces a totally sensational espresso machine, is offering up something a bit different with the Manuscriptum. Not vastly unlike many of the diminutive alternatives already out there, this two-pound PC gets stuffed with a 500MHz AMD Geode LX800 processor, an 80GB hard drive, up to 1GB of RAM and a motherboard that handles four USB 2.0 ports, VGA / serial connectors, dual Ethernet jacks and audio out. Additionally, this little fella is passively cooled and sucks down just 12-watts of power when in operation. As for the OS, you’ll find Debian Linux loaded on, and it also ships with OpenOffice, Foxit PDF Reader and Firefox to keep you busy right from the get-go. In the aforementioned configuration, the Manuscriptum will run you €449 ($650), but it sounds like you can pony up even more if you’re craving a customized rig complete with a 32GB SSD.

If you have a seemingly insatiable appetite for screen real estate, Eizo’s out to satisfy. The firm has unleashed a new duo of FlexScan monitors, which both sport a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution VA panel and the ability to be set up vertically or horizontally. As for the 24.1-inch SX2461W (pictured after the jump), it promises to reproduce 96-percent of the AdobeRGB color space and features a 850:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, six-millisecond response time, HDCP-compliant DVI connector and a pair of USB ports. The 27-incher differs by handling 95-percent of the AdobeRGB color space, sporting 320 cd/m2 brightness and giving users a few more inches (but not pixels, mind you) to work with. Price wise, the little(r) fellow will run you a stiff Â¥137,800 ($1,202) when it lands next month, while the 27-incher will demand an additional Â¥40,200 ($350).

Developed by General Dynamics, the EFV (Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle) is the US Marine Corps’ latest amphibious vehicle — prototypes currently undergoing tests. It boasts an aluminum hull that comes equipped with an acutated bow flap to help planing when at sea. Features include: a Bushmaster II 30mm cannon, 7.62mm machine gun, and smoke/gas dispensers. The EFV can haul 3 crew members and 17 marines. Video after the break.
