Nothing makes us think “educated” more than a Korean gadget-waif holding a text book twice the size of her skirt. Or so says LG who just launched their 12.1-inch XNOTE TX for the “young generation.” The E200-series sports a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory, 1.3 megapixel webcam, super multi-drive DVD, and HDMI-out standard while being one of the first batch of laptops to pack a 120GB hybrid hard disk (HHD) with 256MB of flash. This 3.96-pound, WXGA laptop hits for â‚©1,400,000 or about $1,500.

Leave it to Motorola to unleash yet another completely corny prefix to label its newest two-way radios. Yes, we wish we were kidding about the “TLKR” part, but sadly, it’s very real. Nevertheless, the TLKR T3 touts eight channels, up to 20-hours of battery life, around five-kilometers of range, a sleep mode, channel scan / monitor, an LCD screen, and comes in blue, orange and red colors schemes. As for the T5, it boasts a six-kilometer range, a backlit LCD, handsfree functionality, five call tones, slightly worse battery life, and arrives in red, blue, or black. Currently, pricing details haven’t been nailed down, but you can snap these up (if you can get over the name) next month.

While you can be forgiven for mistaking it for another company’s monitor line, that image above is in fact one of Acer’s new P Series displays, which come in 19, 20, 22, and 24-inch varieties. From the looks of it, there’s nothing too remarkable here, with the 19-inch P191Wd boasting a 1440 x 900 resolution and 2,000:1 contrast ratio, and the 20-inch P201Wd and 22-inch P221Wd upping things to the standard 1680 x 1050 resolution and a slightly better 2,500:1 contrast ratio. On the top of the heap, the 24-inch P241Wd monitor packs a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, a 2 ms response time, and a 400 cd/m2 brightness rating (compared to 300 cd/m2 for the three other models). From the sound of it, all four should be making their way to retailers now (if they aren’t there already), with prices ranging from $230 to $500.

Rest assured, there’s no shortage of glamorous nightclubs, but a new spot is set to excite Londoners that have a thing for exaggerated lighting and all things interactive. Dubbed the “first interactive bar in the world,” each wall will be lined in blank canvas so that projections can be beamed out and altered on a whim to really get you trippin’. Additionally, there will be “hundreds of LEDs” to treat your retinas to, and the bar itself will even be touch sensitive, allowing you to alert the bartender of your drink needs by simply laying your hand down. Sounds like a bloody good time for you blokes (and dames) in the area, but for the rest of us, we’ll have to settle with a few more stills after the jump. [Warning: PDF read link]

2009 may be the year when we finally see a unified memory format, that is, if Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson have their way. The “Universal Flash Storage specification” would see memory cards travel between cellular devices, digital cameras and other memory hungry devices without the need for adapters — and it’ll likely save us some coin, too. Some big name memory manufacturers are purportedly onboard, with names like Micron Technology Inc., Spansion LLC, STMicroelectronics NV, and Texas Instruments Inc., being bandied about. We look forward to that magical day, when our stacks of memory cards can be reduced to a stack of one type of card, ahhh… progress.
