How to: Make a Spud Gun

Posted on 30 October 2006 by admin

So you’ve seen what spud guns are capable of, now find out how to make your own with this tutorial. Parts needed include, a cannon barrel, reducer coupling, end cap, female adapter, two clamps, hardware (nuts, connectors, etc.), stun gun, and wiring.

You can use the Night Lighter both day and night, but when it’s dark, the clear PVC provides an excellent view of the interior ballistics. Also, the stun gun gives better performance than weaker sparks from piezoelectric or flint/steel igniters. It’s fun both to fire and simply to watch in action

Bluebird busting out its BM300 T-DMB PDA in November

Posted on 30 October 2006 by admin

If you don’t mind not having a phone mixed up in your PDA device, you couldn’t do much better than Bluebird’s upcoming BM300 for a Windows Mobile 5.0 unit. Not only does the handheld pack in a 2.8-inch QVGA display, T-DMB, a 520MHz Intel PXA270 CPU, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, an SD slot and 512MB of internal memory, but it does it all at a mere 0.5-inches thick. Bluebird even packed in stereo speakers, just because it could. Unfortunately, still no word on price for this thing, but if this isn’t enough to inspire immigration to Korea, we don’t know what is.

Lexus Builds Chrome IS250

Posted on 30 October 2006 by admin

That’s right, Lexus built a one-of-a-kind chrome IS250 for the Australian International Motor Show, fitted with a special body kit that consists “of a front lower spoiler, side skirts, rear lower skirt and a boot spoiler.”

The creators were inspired by a chrome Lamborghini owned by rap star 50 Cent and had the Japanese built car re-sprayed in the special MirraChrome paint in the Australian state of Victoria. Our favorite feature has got to be car’s alloy wheels, which were specially prepared for this vehicle, and are available in a polished alloy finish as accessory wheels to all IS250 owners

Iiyama ProLite E2200WS-W1 Reviewed

Posted on 30 October 2006 by admin

Iiyama’s 22-inch ProLite E2200WS-W1 offers 1680 x 1050 WSXGA+ resolution, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, and a 170-degree viewing angle. It measures 517.1 x 173 x 444.1mm and weighs in at 12.8-pounds. Here’s the verdict

This is the second monitor of this size and resolution we’ve seen. It justifies being more expensive than the Mirai by being slightly better. Hopefully, this sort of display will be a success for Iiyama enabling it to bring out higher-end models in the future

Posted on 30 October 2006 by admin

If you demand the ultimate in performance, look no furthur than LG’s new S1-M002A9. This ultraportable boasts a 1680 x 1050 15.4-inch display, an Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.16-GHz) processor, HD-DVD combo drive, 100GB SATA HDD, 2GB of DDR2-667 memory, and an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 512MB graphics. Here’s the verdict:

If you are shopping in this range, you should put the S1 on your list. LG has made an almost perfect notebook in the S1. It is well constructed, offers terrific performance and looks extremely stylish. We don’t have to wait until the next revision to see the cons listed below worked out: a bigger HDD and a battery are easy to add. And please LG drop the VGA port for a DVI
