Samsung’s 5.95-pound R40 offers an Intel Core Duo T2300E (1.66GHz) CPU, 1GB of DDR memory, 80GB HDD, 15.4-inch widescreen display with SuperBright technology, and ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics. Here’s the bottom line:
The Samsung R40 satisfies my needs very well. For a budget laptop, it is good value for money, having a generous amount of ram and, although one of the slowest core duo processors, much faster than the previous generation of notebooks

CNet Asia reviews the tiny 2GB iRiver S10 player, which sports a 1.5-inch OLED display, SRS WOW sound enhancement, and an FM tuner. This player measures 42 x 30 x 10.8mm and weighs just 17.5g. Here’s the bottom line:
The S10 is a hardy performer. We tested battery life using 240MB of MP3 files played on a continuous loop at our test volume…beat its own rated time with a result of 8 hours 29 minutes, which was tremendous given its tiny size and color screen. Despite its size, the S10 feels solid and weighty even with its plastic body
