The Guard ID Vault claims to be a secure (?) way of storing all your username/passwords and other types of personal information (bank accounts, etc) on a simple USB smart card that requests a PIN before you can access all the info.
I wouldn’t call it very secure if knowing the PIN (and having the device) is the only barrier to get a hold of all the private and valuable information. There are programs that can achieve the same effect so I don’t understand what is so special about the Guard ID Vault, maybe I’m missing something…
ID Vault is the only security product available directly to consumers that uses smart card technology.
