Philips is about to try their hand against the ubiquitous Mac mini with an ultra tiny desktop of their own, called the LX1000, and from what we can tell, unlike many minuscule units in its class, this thing is no slouch. Featuring a 1.8GHz AMD Turion 64, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB drive, integrated analog/digital TV tuner, WiFi, a dual-layer DVD burner, and NVIDIA GeForce 6600 graphics in a 195 x 58 x 212mm (7.6 x 2.2 x 8.3-inch) form factor, it might actually make for an itty bitty Media Center with a dash of horsepower. The £999 (about $1500) price might deter those who were considering a Boot Camped $800 mini, but stacked specs don’t come for free.

This new mystery O2 device looks a helluva lot like the squarish iterations of the HTC Feeler (except, you know, not a candybar), and apparently came by way of Tatsdiy, the same peeps who brought us those sweet Treo 750 pics a little while ago. We can only hope this mysterious 3G Pocket PC device will slide out to reveal a keyboard and come to the States, but you know us when it comes to phones — ever the eternal optimists.

Field report tidbits from Engadget’s mobile insider, the Boy Genius.
Boy Genius apparently won’t be satisfied with the BlackBerry news, so we’ve no choice but to give the public what the public wants. We received technical specs and a brochure on the BlackBerry 8703e on Verizon, which we couldn’t post until today without compromising our source. Yep, it confirms everything. Nothing really new and exciting, except if you’re one of those CrackBerry addicts that’s been waiting impatiently on this for almost a year now.

We’re always willing to sacrifice a couple millimeters to add 3G data to our handset, particularly when said handset clocks in at a positively anorexic 6.9mm thick. Samsung’s hoping its European customers agree, taking their paper-thin X820, adding UMTS, and rechristening it the SGH-Z370. Besides the addition of some wicked fast data, the Z370 throws in a microSD slot for good measure, all while adding a mere 1.5mm to the thickness of the phone — that still leaves it a good 2.6mm thinner than a SLVR, for the record. We don’t expect the Z370 to come in an American flavor, but for what it’s worth, it did just hop the FCC fence this week.
[Thanks, TC]

Based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, “Concept S†was created by Luc Donckerwolke as “his extreme interpretation of an ‘open car’â€, drawing inspiration “from the classic single-seater racing cars of the past to create this latest design study.†Couple more pics after the jump.

No surprises here, but Dell is fleshing out their Core 2 Duo processor upgrades with two more Inspiron laptops, the E1505 and E1405. The cheapest of the cheap is a E1505 running a 1.66GHz T5500 processor for a mere $729 — after the $100 instant rebate — but speeds scale all the way up to the 2.16GHz T7400. The E1405 starts at $779 — again, with a $100 instant rebate — with the same range of processors. Other specs include a 60 or 120GB HDD, combo drive or DVD burner, and your pick of Intel 950 integrated graphics all the way up to a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 card with 256MB of memory. Both laptops also have an option for an 802.11n card, along with Bluetooth, and both still have a Core Duo option if you’ve got a hankerin’ for Yonah. All configurations should be available now or soon from the Dell store.
