Samsung today unveiled the world’s first 70-inch LCD HDTV, which boasts 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 600nit brightness, 180-degree viewing angles, and 92% color saturation for optimum image quality. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
In addition, its video signal is reproduced at 120Hz, compared to a video signal of 60 Hz for a conventional Full HD LCD panel, enabling rapidly moving video images to be reproduced with crystal clarity. Samsung will begin producing the new 70-inch LCD during the first half of 2007, bolstering its position in the ultra-large-screen TV segment

The Belkin Skype WiFi phone is a phone that looks like your cell, but works only with Skype and only over WiFi. It’s about the same size as a larger candybar style phone—maybe 125% as long, wide, and thick as a Sony Ericsson T610. We got our hands on one and ran it through our testing process to see if it lived up to its Skype hype.
Did it? (read more after the jump)

There is a line where a laptop is no longer a laptop: when you wouldn’t want to put it on your lap because it’ll restrict the blood flow to your legs. This Acer Aspire 9800 crosses this line: This behemoth has a 20-inch screen and weighs in at a thigh-crushing 17.3 pounds. Although it has a HD-DVD drive, for $2799 you could get a kick-ass gaming desktop and a wireless keyboard, which might also help to preserve future generations; all that heat ain’t good for your nether regions. – Richard BaguleyÂ

If you’re familiar with the Hermes and you know that it’s coming to Cingular ‘fore too long, these supposed renderings of Cingular’s variant (henceforth known as the 8525) should come with no surprises — except one, that is. Note that the Hermes’ front-facing cam is conspicuously missing here, allegedly removed at Cingular’s request since their video calling infrastructure isn’t quite ready for prime time. Of course, we would’ve preferred that they leave the cam in, disable it, and cut a new firmware down the road to re-enable it when video calling is live rather than ask HTC to cripple their hardware, but we’re sure the corporate suits had their reasons.
