Hard to believe that anyone would willingly stare at Windows XP on a tiny screen (the five-inch display on the OQO and the 4.5-inch display on the Sony UX are already pushing the bounds of XP’s usability), but some info and images have turned up over at AVING about one with an even smaller display, the new Vega Ultra Portable. No slide-out QWERTY keyboard like either the OQO or the UX, but the Vega does sport what looks like a full numeric keypad on the front, as well as a 4.3-inch touch screen, an AMD Geode LX800 processor, 30GB hard drive, 256MB of RAM, and integrated WiFi. Should be out sometime next month, at least in South Korea.

Just like in 5th grade, some things are still pretty dang interesting when looked at up close. X-Loupe can help you in your quest of dang interesting stuff, by snapping onto a Canon IXUS camera (Digital ELPH in the States) and providing microscope-style 150x 5 megapixel photography. The unit has its own battery and LED lens ring, which should provide around 4 hours of magnification fun, and doesn’t impede any of the usual IXUS features like preview, video recording or TV connectivity. X-Loupe can be obtained from the company of the same name for around $1450, and comes with a trio of lenses (60x, 100x and 150x) along with a Canon IXUS 65 camera to round out the package.

Last night Motorola had quite an event. Our own Nicholas Deleon was live on the scene for the event and you can check out his first look of the RIZR here. After that, check out MobileBurn’s first look of the MOTOFONE F3 from the Motorola event last night. The F3 is the affordable handset in Motorola’s line of ultra-thin cellphones. The spec sheet may be weak, but don’t rule out this phone yet. At only .35 inches thick this phone definitely stands out for a lower end phone. It also uses a monochromatic EPD “Clear Vision” display that has a retro-feel to it. At $50 without any kind of carrier ball-busting contracts this will definitely be one of the more popular low-end cellphones. – Travis Hudson
