Samsung d807 Ultraslim Slider

Posted on 04 January 2006 by admin

Â

Samsung has obviously been able to garner a rather positive reaction to their t809 ultrathin slider, and — one good turn deserving another — has announced the t807, an even thinner (14.9mm) slider. This one will also feature a 1.3 megapixel camera, MicroSD slot, Bluetooth, and stereo speakers. Expect the d807 sometime in the second quarter.

From Engadget

We’re still waiting on the English press release but Sony Ericsson is launching their W810i Walkman phone today at CES. It’s pretty much the W800 only now supporting EDGE and Quadband GSM 850/900/1900/850 with dedicated music buttons in the joystick like the W900 — exactly what you were asking for. Like the W800, you get a 512MB Memory Stick in the box, a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5-milimeter headphone jack (still via included dongle we think), Bluetooth, and 1.9-inch 176 x 220 pixel screen. Said to be shipping before March for an as of yet undisclosed price.

Panasonic’s cordless landline with Skype

Posted on 04 January 2006 by admin

Panasonic cordless phoneCan’t decide whether to use the oh-so-nineties landline or your fresh new Skype account? No worries thanks to Panasonic. Panny is tag-teaming their telephones with a new Skype partnership. If the plans work out, you’ll get your choice of calling options between both services on a single phone, which sounds better than a Skype WiFi-only phone. We still think it’s odd to use a wireless phone for calls over wires, but at least we can feel slightly redeemed with the addition of Skype on our home phone. Here’s hoping the new model looks like the current KX-TG5456S from Panasonic pictured above; we just can’t wait to see our Skype contacts on a color screen.

Motorola ROKR E2 is official

Posted on 04 January 2006 by admin

We’ve been hearing details about this phone for ages, but it looks like Motorola finally ROLD out their latest ROKR musicphone, the ROKR E2. We already mentioned earlier today that it’ll be one of the first Moto handsets to support iRadio and that it (frustratingly) won’t have iTunes like its elder brother, the ROKR E1, but what we also now know is that the E2 will have USB 2.0 (the E1 was cursed with USB 1.1), up to 2GB of storage courtesy of an SD memory card slot (SD cards being cheaper and easier to find than TransFlash cards), a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, a proper 3.5mm headphone jack, support for Bluetooth stereo headphones, a 2-inch, 320 x 240 pixel LCD display, built-in FM tuner, and no ridiculous cap on the number of songs you can fit on its memory card. Should be out sometime in the first half of 2006.

Pentax intros Optio A10 and Optio E10

Posted on 04 January 2006 by admin

Pentax busted out two new digital cameras ahead of CES today, the Optio A10 and the Optio E10. Nothing crazy, the Optio A10(pictured above) is an eight megapixel model with shake reduction technology and a 3x optical zoom lens, while the six megapixel Optio E10 (pictured below) is more of an entry-level model (hence the “E”) and has a 3x optical zoom lens. Both should be in stores next month, with the A10 going for $350 and the E10 selling for $200.

Samsung unveils #11PMP digital camera

Posted on 04 January 2006 by admin

Samsung Techwin, one of many Samsung subsidiaries, unveiled the rather uniquely named #11PMP, a digital camera with built-in personal media player functions. The digital camera side of the equation doesn’t look too bad, with a 6 megapixel sensor (although it obviously lacks an optical zoom), but the PMP features look to be decidedly lacking, with only 45MB of internal memory. Easily expanded using whatever type of memory card it takes, but still, we don’t expect it to replace anyone’s main PMP anytime soon. But at least it’s thin — about 18.5 mm. It goes on sale this month for around $450US.
