DualCor: Half-PDA, Half-PC, 100% Uber

Posted on 19 December 2005 by admin

The DualCor is really two devices in one. It’s a real 1.5Ghz computer that can run Windows XP and all the applications that we are familiar with, and at the same time it’s a super-PDA with another processor that runs Windows Mobile 5.0 for all the instant-on (smartphone/PDA) applications. It’s probably an OK computer and a fantastic PDA, and quite frankly, I’m not sure about using it as a phone (It seems a bit larger than a Sony PSP)… However, if it makes it to the market, it will be a very cool gadget to have.
• 1.5Ghz Via Processor
• 5-inch 800×600 display
• 1GB of DDR2 memory
• 40GB HDD

Posted on 19 December 2005 by admin

The Gotive H42 is a wireless PDA powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 and a 520Mhz Intel CPU. It can accept up to 1GB of non-volatile memory, which is quite rare for a PDA. This computing core is protected by a tough shell that should protect it from mild shocks. The most noticeable particularity is the 6.2” wide screen. It connects to a number of networks (WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM…), can receive an optional GPS add-on and has a docking station with serial and USB ports. Its size is 230 x 94 x 34mm for 600g. Price: 1350 to 2500+ Euros.
