The Nokia E61 vs. the Treo 650

Posted on 14 October 2005 by admin

Yup, it’s the pic we’ve all been waiting for (or at least it’s the pic we geeks here at Engadget have been waiting for): the new Nokia E61 side-by-side with the Treo 650. The E61 is definitely wider and a bit longer than the Treo, but it’s also thinner and has a larger display (albeit one with slightly lower resolution 320 x 240 vs. 320 x 320). Unfortunately, we weren’t able to spend enough time with the E61’s keyboard to come away with much of an opinion either way.

eBox-3800sl Mini XP

Posted on 14 October 2005 by admin

This tiny PC from Media Stream Technologies runs silent, consumes very little power and boots in FIVE SECONDS. Called the eBox-3800sl, the puny PC runs Windows XP Embedded powered by an Eden-N Nano processor at 800 MHz with 356 MB of DDR RAM, as well as a CLE266 chipset with MPEG-2 accelerator for zippy graphics. Best of all, it’s just 6.7 inches by 4.9 inches by 1.5 inches.

Sneak Peak at Samsung’s Razor Thin T809 Slider

Posted on 14 October 2005 by admin

The new Samsung SGH-T809 for T-Mobile USA, a super thin and sleek slider handset with a drop dead gorgeous display.
This is a phone that could grab the market’s attention in just the way that Motorola’s RAZR did.

The T809 is equipped with a megapixel digital camera and a fully loaded Bluetooth system. The 262k color display is really bright and nice to look at, too. There is even a TransFlash/microSD memory card slot on the side. But the thing that makes this phone so nice is the body itself. It is so thin, smooth operating, and just damn fine looking.

The unofficial word is that we can expect to see a formal announcement for this phone in November of this year. I’m very much looking forward to it.

You’ll find a few more photos of the T809 on the following page.

VOIP – WiFi -352×416 pix – 16 Millions Colors Nokia E60

Posted on 14 October 2005 by admin

Nokia’s E60 is the most traditional looking handset in the new Eseries line. But while it might look like a traditional candy bar/monoblock handset, it still packs a lot of functionality inside.

The E60 shares all of the VOIP, WiFi, and push email abilities of the other two Eseries handsets, but unlike the others, the E60 has a beautiful 352×416 pixel display that is capable of over 16 million colors. That’s right, millions.

One could question why such an extravagant display was put on this model, and not on the other, sexier handsets, but whatever the reason, I’m looking forward to seeing more of the same in future models.

You’ll find more photos of the E60 on the following page.
